LOCATION: Hedingham Castle
Standing 110-feet high, Hedingham Castles Norman keep was built c1140 by Aubrey de Vere and is still owned by one of his descendants, Jason Lindsay, and his wife Demetra. There are four floors to explore, including a magnificent Banqueting Hall spanned by a stunning 28-foot arch, one of the largest Norman arches in England.
A visit to the castle and its beautiful grounds is ideal for a family outing, and during the summer there are a variety of special events which bring its colourful history alive. This summer, Hedingham Castle provides the back drop to The Globe Theatres production of William Shakespeares As You Like It.
Hair and make-up tips
Hair by Mellissa brand
Summers trend is very girly with bold, colourful patterns. So when it comes to hairstyles, this summer is all about glorious visions of natural highlights and long, wind-blown hair. Also, to take the hair up and off the face, try pretty plaits or an elegant bun to make that special outfit look dressy.
Curly hair is always asummer hit, but this year its less about kinks and more about undulating waves. You can create this by taking larger sections of hair and wrapping it round curling tones or straighteners creating chunky spiral curls and then finishing them off by running some of Redkens Glass 01 through with your fingers to give a nice, shiny glossy finish.
Make-up by Jessica Robinson
This summer its important that your skin looks fresh and well toned. We wanted to create a natural style to complement the finished look. I dusted the eyes with a light purple and used a dark purple across the lashes to create definition to open the eyes a really good tip if you want to make your eyes seem bigger and brighter. I used a highlighter under the eyes and across the cheek bone to enhance the area, a great product for this is YSL Touch Eclat. For the lips I used a light brown with a soft pink tone gloss to give a glamorous but natural look. Remember, during the summer months make up for the day requires soft tones and not over the top colour. The key rule is always, is less is more.
