ED SCOTT | Hutton Kitchens

What trends do you expect to see in your industry in 2020? We have seen a significant growth of the true handleless kitchens over recent years, we are seeing more clean lines ranges in 2020, with lots of new colours inspired by Urban Living, stone, concrete, wood and metal effects coming into the ranges.

Clients are looking for more open plan living styles, integrating family rooms with the kitchen.

What can we expect from your business in 2020? Hutton Kitchens are continuing to add more clean line displays in the Billericay showroom.

Brexit uncertainty is now not dominating the news, there has been a significant change in our client's positivity and already looks to be a very busy 2020.

What are your new year resolutions for 2020? To let customers know more about us. Our team provides a fantastic local service, so more client open days, cookery demonstrations and to publish more case studies on the web site and kitchen magazines.

KRYSTAL PRINCE | The Glamour Room

I own two salons in Essex depending on your beauty needs! The Glamour Room Health + Beauty Salon in Rayne specialises in a range of beauty treatments from manicures, waxing, massage and facials including Non-Surgical solutions. Anything head to toe really! And The Glamour Room Lash + Brow Bar is now open in Chelmsford City Centre. Our expert technicians offer all treatments for the eyes, from a basic brow tidy to the new brow lamination or a simple eyelash tint to a full set of Russian lash enhancements.

What trends do you expect to see in your industry in 2020? Brows are continuing to spiral out of control, quite literally in some cases! Brow Lamination is the beauty industry's newest brow trend. It is a fantastic treatment to set the brows into a desired shape and a solution to tame wild, unruly brows. This treatment is suitable for all ages and equally great for men. Brow treatments have been increasingly popular and I think that will continue in 2020.

What can we expect from your business in 2020? With my newest branch in Chelmsford City Centre specialising in only Lash and Brow treatments, I am expecting more clients through the door with the rising brow trends. I want to offer all the newest Brow products and services.

Lashes are now becoming essential, so I hope to see more clients having then to make getting ready in the mornings a dream! Well-being is so important for mental and physical health and I will be offering more treatments in my Health and Beauty Salon in Rayne, to encourage clients to take 'time out' to relax and to give advice on looking after the body inside and out.

What are your new year resolutions for 2020? To get a better work life balance and to practice what I preach and schedule in some me time!

Vicky is the CEO of Vie Aesthetics, an awardwinning, international clinic, which she founded in Essex in 2013. The clinic provides pioneering treatments in aesthetics medicine, treating face, body and hair concerns for men and women.

What trends do you expect to see in your industry in 2020? Tighter regulations, for a start. I think nonsurgical procedures will continue to become more mainstream in consumers' eyes - and more popular with men, too.

There will also be more demand for combination treatments. So, a client won't just use Botox or dermal filler, for example, but under the guidance of the doctor, combine multiple procedures to achieve the results they desire.

What can we expect from your business in 2020? We won four awards last year for safety, expertise and customer care, so we want to build on that! We're going to reduce our carbon print. We're also expanding the business to become a hub not just for Aesthetics, but for Health and Wellness, too, with a team of experts under one roof. And we're registering with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

What are your new year resolutions for 2020? To run the Race for Life again. To collaborate with other businesswomen and mentor more.

FIONA ASHWORTH | Thompson Smith and Puxon (TSP)

TSP is a leading Essex Law Firm. Director and Head of the Wills and Estates Team, Fiona Ashworth, is a Legal 500 Leading Individual, and her team is, according to the Legal 500, "proficient in handling high-value and often uniquely challenging transfers of inter-generational wealth." She is a fully qualified member of both Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), a Dementia Friend, and listed on the panel of recommended Solicitors for the Alzheimer's Research Society in the eastern region.

What changes could have an impact in 2020? I expect to see a continued increase in private online applications for LPAs and Estate Administrations (Probate). However, whilst online applications can, for many, seem relatively quick and cost effective, individuals should beware of not fully understanding the purpose of the documents and the process and procedure involved. Consulting a solicitor for initial advice, particularly where family circumstances are complicated, can save time, money and heartache in the long-run.

What can we expect from your business in 2020? In 2020 we will focus on developing further our provision of advice for healthcare and funding for care for elderly and vulnerable clients and for those living with dementia. We will expand our family trust specialisms and focus on succession strategies for our family business and farming clients.

We expect more appointments as professional Attorneys and as Deputies for clients, particularly where families are in dispute or where clients have no trusted friend or family member to appoint.

What are your new year resolutions for 2020? At TSP we put the client at the heart of everything we do. In 2020 it is my aim to deliver exceptional service to all of our clients, across Essex and into the counties beyond.

DR. IOANNIS LIAKAS | Vie Aesthetics

Dr. Liakas is the Medical Director of Vie Aesthetics, an award-winning clinic, providing advanced non-surgical treatments for both men and women, in face, body and hair. It was founded in 2013 and currently has practices based in Essex Rayleigh, London Harley Street, and Germany.

What trends do you expect to see in your industry in 2020? The advances in technology are such now that we will continue to see non-surgical aesthetic medicine being used to treat concerns, which previously only surgery might resolve.

For example, we already have non-surgical alternatives to nose-jobs and liposuction. In addition, we will see further advances in stem cell therapies, which use a patient's own tissue to reverse problems such as loss of facial volume or hair loss. That's exciting.

What can we expect from your business in 2020? A lot. On the medical side, we will introduce stem cell therapies for non-surgical facelifts and body contouring. We are launching a National Medical Weight Management Program in early Spring. We are also introducing Life Coaching and CBT sessions, and setting up healthcare to become a holistic business model.

What are your new year resolutions for 2020? To keep fit, travel the world more, and develop a comfortable work/life balance!

LISA NYLAND | Attwells Solicitors

I oversee the day to day running of our conveyancing department in our new Colchester office on North Hill next to Middletons. As well as being responsible for the overall Conveyancing that is undertaken firm wide across all of our offices.

Our conveyancing department offers a jargon-free legal service to those moving home nationwide. Our focus is to ensure that those moving home or buying their first home in Essex do so as smoothly and as stress-free as possible.

What's the secret of your success? Being approachable, available and offering regular updates. By listening to my clients, I was able to understand early on in my career that clients want to know what is happening with their property and touching base weekly is key. This is true of all forms of law but especially conveyancing.

How do you achieve a work/life balance? Achieving a work life balance is always a challenge for anyone. In the early days of my career it was hard. Having a young family whilst working, studying and building our conveyancing team was not always plain sailing but worth the rewards of seeing something grow and mature. Taking my dog Molly for long walks by the coast and mountain biking at the weekends is a great way to re-energise for the week ahead

Who inspires you the most? The Author Jane Austen because she not only achieved beautiful literature, she had a successful career at a time when women had little to no rights.

SARA THAKKAR | Chief Executive, Colne Housing Association

Colne Housing is a vibrant, growing housing association specialising in enabling independent living. We house around 5,000 people, who cannot rent or buy privately, in decent and safe homes throughout north Essex and in Suffolk. Each year we also build new homes to meet the needs of our current residents and future generations. With around 50 employees based at the Knowledge Gateway, Essex University, Colchester, we are committed to working with others to be part of the solution to the housing crisis.

What trends do you expect to see in your industry in 2020? In the housing association sector there will be a continued focus on building safety. We expect to see the modernisation of services to continue with more digital options for our diverse customer group.

Aligning businesses to the 21st century worker will be key and creating affordable homes for young people is important. Colne will be part of providing new affordable housing options to address demand in Essex and the East of England. And I expect the reality of climate change and sustainability to shape how we build homes and invest in them.

What can we expect from your business in 2020? A focus on growth and doing more for our residents to help ease the housing crisis in Essex, Suffolk and the East of England. We want to enable independent living, empower our residents to hold us to account and support our communities to thrive.

What are your new year resolutions for 2020? Keep calm and carry on!
