In the upcoming months Essex Police will be bringing a number of new puppies into their Dog Section and they need locals to help prepare the animals for life as a serving police dog

Fancy having an adorable puppy live with you for nine months and want to do your bit in aiding the protection of Essex's communities?

Then apply to be a volunteer puppy walker for Essex Police now!

The service have laid out a number of criteria for those wishing to apply including:

- The puppy can't be left alone for more than four hours - who wouldn't want to spend every possible minute with your new temporary pup?

- You must be able to expose the puppy to different areas and environments - this means lots of days out exploring Essex!

- You must be willing to attend puppy training in Chelmsford - a chance to meet all the other lovely police pups!

If you can meet the above criteria and several other requirements then register your interest now through this link.

The only drawback is you'd have to give the pup back after the nine months. If you think you can cope with that - it'll be very hard no doubt - then you should certainly apply now.
