Win a four-night stay for four in a luxury lodge

PUBLISHED: 12:24 26 August 2014

Essex Life has joined forces with Wakes Hall Lodges at Wakes Colne near Colchester to offer one lucky reader a fabulous opportunity to enjoy a four-night stay in a two-bedroom luxury lodge for up to four people.

Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or just fancy a few days away from the hustle and bustle, Wakes Hall Lodges offer a fantastic location to unwind in the tranquil beauty of the Colne Valley. Guests can enjoy the privacy of their own self-contained, luxury, two-bedroom holiday lodge.

The lodges are tucked away in an ancient meadow in undulating countryside, where in decades gone by heavy horses, cattle and sheep would have grazed. Each purpose-built lodge is luxuriously appointed with the sole objective of being more comfortable than staying at home. Lodges benefit from TV, free wi-fi, a fully-equipped kitchen, a master en suite with a free-standing bath and walk-in waterfall shower, while a second bedroom en suite also offers a walk-in waterfall shower. Each bedroom and lounge area also enjoys flat screen TVs.

Outside guests can enjoy their own private veranda with outstanding views of the countryside plus a private hot tub.

Wakes Hall Lodges are located in the village of Wakes Colne in the delightful Colne Valley of north Essex, approximately eight miles from the garrison town of Colchester and one hour on the mainline railway to London Liverpool Street. The tranquil setting includes a magnificent fishing lake, a meadow and a winding brook to a picturesque wood that features bluebells and wild garlic. You have the freedom to do as much or as little as you like. Breathe in the fresh country air and take a woodland walk through the exceptional local countryside, relax and while away your time by the lake or simply enjoy the spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife.

Space, freedom, eco-friendliness, security and high end luxury have been the fundamental objectives from the outset and each of the idyllic, private, luxury lodges boasts a south-facing veranda from which you can take in the wonderful views of the open countryside in which you are nestled. The winner of this competition will enjoy a stay in a two-bedroom luxury lodge for up to four people for four nights, plus a welcome hamper of holiday essentials on arrival. n
