8 perfect places for a winter break near Essex

Whether it be in Essex itself or in any of the counties surrounding us, there are numerous hotels, cottages and lodges that make for a wonderful winter break. Here are 8 you should book in to right away

1) Hintlesham Hall

Hintlesham Hall has to be one of the most beautiful Country House Hotels in Suffolk. 2) Wivenhoe House

Wivenhoe House is the perfect place to escape this winter. Once painted by John Constable, the hotel can be used as a base to explore the surrounding parkland. Take a stroll along one of the walking trails set up throughout the grounds before heading back for a Sunday Roast and to sit in front of the fire in the Grade II listed main house.
