Over recent years, Essex has gained a growing reputation as a cultural centre <br/><br/>for innovative art events. Caroline Foster introduces a few highlights for 2010

Highlights of 2009 at Maeldune Heritage Centre, Maldon

Home to Maldon Embroidery, Maeldune Heritage Centre displays various art and craft works throughout the year and until January 23, 2010, you will find a hand-picked selection of items from exhibitions held during 2009.


Colchester Art Trails

Start the New Year with a stroll around one of the Colchester Art Trails. As well as shorter routes to discover the beautiful landscapes of the town and district, you can also try the 69-mile Painters Trail, designed to be completed over two or three days.


Leigh Art Trail

Established in 1997, the Leigh Art Trail has become one of the countys most prominent art events. Founded by a group of local, contemporary artists, the festival offers visitors the chance to see diverse ranges of work from artists based around Leigh on Sea.
