Top Trend: Storage Solutions
Do you need some inspiration to clear the clutter from your kitchen? According to John Martin, senior designer and owner at award-winning Regal Kitchens in Chelmford, there are many solutions. John explains: ‘There are many products out there in the market at the moment to help contribute to a clutter-free zone. For example, a 2014 must have is the kettle tap, which is a perfect product for the kitchen. It is a tap that immediately dispenses boiling water, with a tap on the worktop and a tank underneath, and it delivers hot water at the twist of a lever, safely, instantly and without fuss.’ John adds: ‘The inside of each cabinet is now as important as the outside, from internal vegetable baskets through to pull-out wirework. Also drawers inside a larder are very popular at the moment because they have the advantage of being opened individually and keeping the weight load to a minimum. A good addition is the twin-hidden rubbish/recycling centre holding 64L – a very generous solution to help support the household waste issue.’

Top Trend: Home Office Help
WHETHER you find yourself working from home on the odd occasion or you work full-time from home, it is important to have the right furniture and make the most of the space at your disposal. Bradlee Priest, partner in the family-run business Priest Brothers in Chelmsford, describes how people either prefer traditional or contemporary trends. Bradlee says: ‘There is a really good contemporary product called Berkeley. It is made from solid oak, which gives you the opportunity to choose what handles and finishes you want to add to your desk. It has a clean and modern feel to it, which is always desirable when it’s your working station.’
Bradlee adds: ‘The Balmoral Oak is very on trend at the moment when it comes to the traditional palette. It is a beautifully hand-crafted larger size desk, which can be suitable for all ages and styles in the home, combined with the same concept as the Berkeley products. However, many people are choosing bespoke furniture too because sometimes products don’t fit in the desired spaces so tweaks have to be made.’

Top Trend: Plush Swimming Pools
DO YOU FANCY turning your garden into a private oasis this summer? Whether indoors or outdoors, a swimming pool can provide great pleasure for you to enjoy during the year. Jackie Wiskin, director of Pool Worx Ltd in Sible Hedingham, believes the weather makes a terrific difference in the way people view their garden and leisure time. Jackie says: ‘After increasingly hot summers, we find customers consider a pool the year after. Apart from the social aspect of a swimming pool, it has the obvious benefits of health and fitness. It is the perfect way to relax after a busy day and to spend quality time with friends and family in the privacy of your own garden.’ Jackie adds: ‘The majority of the time people don’t know what they require. Pools can be any shape or size, but if you require a safety cover then a rectangular pool is necessary. Green/blue pools are really popular, combined with glass mosaics or tile pattern liners, which from a distance they look like a tile pool.’
