Another year , another September, must mean the region's premier motoring event returns to Essex. Since 2012, the Warren Estate, just outside Chelmsford, plays host to the annual Warren Supercar and Classic event
Set in the grounds of this historic golfing estate, the event has established itself as an international standard destination for some of the world's major classic car owners.
The concours event comprises over 120 of the most interesting classic and supercars all vying to win "Best in Show". Being selected to appear to be judged can be enough for some owners, but soon the competitive edge takes hold, and really, everyone would like to be crowned the winner.
Winning Best in Show is not just about a trophy but about the knowledge that your car has been judged by a panel of peers and experts who have chosen your car to win.
Of course, a trophy is nice to look at, but the Warren winner actually gets a prize that really can't be bought. The prestigious RAC Club on Pall Mall displays the winning car in the Rotunda for a week after the event.
For those who prefer the more modern vehicle, the event plays host to 14 prestige car dealers, many other car dealers, and a large trade and shopping area.
If that's not enough to tempt anyone wanting to spend a very enjoyable Sunday, with or without the family, there are numerous activities to cater for all palates.
The day culminates with the RAF parachute display team and a flyover from the the RAF vintage display team. Of course, food and drink are taken care of, from casual catering to the stunning Clubhouse dining areas.
The Warren Estate itself is worth a look at if you are planning an event, wedding, holiday, or just for a bite to eat. All this in a beautiful 300 acres setting.
This year's event takes place on Sunday 22nd September.
