FolkEast Weekend— Sandlings Sessions

FolkEast is delighted to host a weekend of workshops, intimate performances and dance at Snape Maltings in the heart of the Suffolk Sandlings. There will be the opportunity to work and play with some of the UK’s leading folk artists over the full weekend. In the evening, take time to enjoy intimate and unique performances with the odd session thrown in and a splash of FolkEast frolics.

Snow Drops in Focus

Beth Chatto Gardens, Elmstead Market, Colchester CO7 7DB

Take a chance to get out in the fresh air of early spring and photograph the wonderful show of colour in the garden. Philip Smith, founder of IGPOTY, will take you on a photographic snowdrop tour, sharing ideas, tips and techniques with the group. The emphasis will be on creating artistic compositions and how to make best use of your camera. You will then have an opportunity to work on your own images under Philip’s expert one-to-one guidance.

Professor Nitrate’s Mission To Mars

It’s February half-term at the Royal Gunpowder Mills and Professor

Nitrate is on a Mission to Mars. Join him as he tries to complete his mission into outer space! There are fun science shows with the Professor, space-themed activities and fun for all the family. Join in to make space sand, make your own spaceman suit and try foods that astronauts eat, launch a rocket and even dress up at the space window where you can take a selfie to amaze your friends. The 175 acre site is open to explore too, with a fantastic land train tour, exhibitions, the theatre and armoury, wildlife tower and ample play space. This is a much-loved, all-weather, all-day venue combining fun and learning.

Daws Hall Snowdrop Celebration

The Daws Hall Nature Reserve and Gardens Henny Rd, Bures CO8 5EX

Following the huge success of their first ever Snowdrop Celebration last year, the Daws Hall Nature Reserve and Gardens at Lamarsh (near Bures) will open for another Snowdrop Celebration.The main attraction will again be the thousands of snowdrops and other spring bulbs.

Valentines Afternoon Tea
