The annual Leigh Art Trail has become an important part of the town’s cultural calendar. Now in its 20th year, the 2017 event will showcase the talents of more than 70 selected artists and designer-makers in around 55 venues.

Victorian Delights

Audley End House & Gardens CB11 4 JF

Join the adventure as you travel back to the wonderful world of Victorian Britain. There’ll be drama aplenty as you meet Queen Victoria and all 42 of her gracious grandchildren. Discover innovative inventions and tremendous toys; and make sure to watch out for the sneaky assassins trying to claim the price on Queen Victoria’s head!

Real Ale Weekend

The Real Ale Weekend returns to its usual slot. The event has grown over the years and so visitors can expect more beers, more trains and more fun in 2017!

40 Years On

West Cliff Theatre, Tower Road, Clacton on Sea CO15 1LE

Funny, poignant and at times searingly honest, 40 Years On looks back at Jim Davidson OBE’s triumphs and tragedies, from his breakthrough on New Faces in 1976, through to winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2014. Jim will take audiences on a trip down memory lane, regaling them with never-before-heard stories, as he reminisces on the highs, lows and controversies of a unique life spent in the public eye.

Open Air The Wind in the Willows

Pack your picnics and join the boat-loving Ratty, the sensible yet curious Mole, wise old Badger and the fantastically irrepressible Toad as they embark on the adventure of a lifetime, culminating in a colourful battle with the sly weasel to save Toad Hall.
