Ask someone to name a banned song and they might come up with Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood or a Rolling Stones single. These examples and many others are all here in this intriguing book, alongside some surprises such as songs by George Formby and Honky Tonk Woman by Cliff Richard.
There are many fascinating stories here and it’s not just banned songs but album covers and band members too. It’s a skilfully researched book, ranging from the 1930s to the present day.
