Taste of Sudbury Festival returns

Following the success of the first Taste of Sudbury Food & Drink Festival, held in June 2013, the Sudbury Town Team has announced that the event will run again in 2014. The Town Team, which is a voluntary and non-profit making organisation, has been overwhelmed by the interest generated by the event and this has contributed to their decision to run it again. The event will take place on June 22 from 11am, with many of the exhibitors who attended last year having already booking their space.
Last year saw more than 50 exhibitors from the Sudbury area promoting local food and local restaurants as well as providing lots of free samples to taste. This year there will be cookery demonstrations on a stage with the addition of screens so that the audience can view what the chefs are doing. Food and drink stalls will be inside St Peter’s Church, on the Market Hill and outside the Town Hall, and the event will be opened by Lesley Dolphin of BBC Radio Suffolk.
Jane Hatton, Sudbury’s town centre development manager, said: ‘The Taste of Sudbury event exceeded everyone’s expectations last year, with the majority of visitors and producers very complimentary and confirmed that they would like to attend again. We are very excited about promoting the best food and drink suppliers, growers, brewers and chefs from Sudbury and the surrounding area.’
