Black rabbit in Maldon is one of the new ‘off the wall trendy bars’ to open in Essex.

The vibe of the bar is laid back with a lot of entertainment to keep the guests busy. Plent of board games can be found with retro arcade games, ping pong and a beer pong table that is proving to be very popular.

The food menu has a lot of variety and is made to suit all tastes. Small plates or tapas style dishes are on offer as starters or just something to nibble on when taking in the 70’s soundtrack. Amongst others are brie bites with cranberry sauce, slow cooked burnt ends with cowboy butter and buffalo cauliflower bites.

For something a tad more indulgent, you can find home-made burgers and pizza on the menu. The southern fried chicken burger is made with a in house rub and special sauce. The cheeseburger comes with two beef patties as standard and also has a secret burger sauce that taste absolutely fantastic.

For the purists at heart, you will find fish and chips, ribs and a range of toasted sandwiches. The “pork noodles Hong Kong style” is served in an American take away box and is quite spectacular for that all important instagram moments.

The owner and chef is currently working on a the Autumn/Winter menu and the should be completed within a few weeks. Items on this menu will include a parsnip soup, veggie wellington and mushroom and goats cheese burger.

Our Christmas menu is now complete and the festive season is looking great for us as we have already booked in events for both sit down dinners and buffet style parties.
