The Oak-Tree Schools celebrated the diverse and exciting artwork being created by its pupils last month by holding an art exhibition at Loughton Art Gallery. It featured outstanding work created by pupils of The Oak-Tree Group of Schools; Oaklands School in Loughton, Coopersale Hall School in Epping, Normanhurst School in North Chingford and Braeside School in Buckhurst Hill. On the preview evening the schools broke the gallery record, with a huge turnout. Annabelle, Year 11
said: ‘The work looked amazing in a gallery. The preview was packed and there was a really good atmosphere.’
The exhibition ran for a week and formed part of a month long schools exhibition entitled, Loughton Young Artists. During the exhibition, a panel of three independent judges picked a first and second prize. The winners, Maya, Year 10 and Hannah, Year 11 were presented with prizes by the Mayor of Loughton on Tuesday, February 9.
