Lord Petre asks guests to Do the Honours for Essex
LORD PETRE, the Lord Lieutenant of Essex, welcomed selected guests to the launch of the Do the Honours for Essex campaign at Ingatestone Hall. The campaign is to encourage more Essex people who go that extra mile to be nominated for the Queen’s Honours awards and aims to promote nominations for awards for those people who make a real difference to the community.
Lord Petre, who is the Queen’s representative in the county, said: ‘Honours recognise the achievements of ordinary people who do extraordinary things. We want to see more successful nominations for Essex people whose efforts have been of significant benefit to the community. This is your chance to say thank you and Do the Honours for Essex.’

Wheeler Cellars offers a taste of the high life...
JULY saw the hugely successful launch of Wheeler Cellars’ Local Producers’ Market. The market attracted more than 400 customers who joined Wheeler Cellars’ at its Colchester shop for a celebration of local food and drink.
Consumers could benefit from the unique opportunity to sample the finest local produce and carefully matched wines all in one location. Visitors to the markets were also able to taste and purchase on the day in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Another Wheeler Cellars’ Local Producers’ Market takes place on Saturday, November 22. Visit Wheeler Cellars in Colchester for what promises to be a a great event showcasing a selection of seasonal, local food along with some fabulous gift ideas for Christmas.

Essex business groups are a force for success...
The Essex Chambers of Commerce (ECC) and Stansted Chamber of Commerce (SACC) jointly hosted an evening meeting at The Hilton Hotel at Stansted. The Essex Chambers presented to the delegates about their role in the county and why being a chamber member can greatly benefit businesses today.
More than 50 local business men and women joined the two chambers at the Hilton to listen to chief executive John Clayton, operations director Denise Rossiter and other senior managers from Essex Chambers. Julie Budden, director of SACC said: ‘The publicity and networking opportunities within the Stansted Airport Chamber of Commerce make becoming a member a positive investment for all types of businesses in the area, whether large or small.’
