Since 1996, The Albion Bath Company have been at the forefront of the luxury bathrooms market in the UK. Renowned for their huge range of beautiful freestanding baths, the designers at Albion can help to transform your bathroom into a spa-like haven of peace and tranquillity. But with all their impressive designs to choose from, how can you be sure of choosing the right bath for you?

Firstly, it is important to consider whether you want a traditional or contemporary feel for your room; bath tubs are available in many styles with roll-top or flat top, single or double ended, along with many possible feet or plinths options to choose from. There is also the option to have a freestanding bath that is designed to tile into a wall or even to use as a shower bath.

It is also crucial to decide what size bath you want and need. Albion often talk to customers that are trying to shoehorn a big bath into a small space - don’t make this mistake. Select a bath that’s right for your room and right for your body size.

You then also need to consider the technical aspects of your room. Weight can be an issue with some freestanding baths; however, Albion’s baths are made from a unique Iso–Enamel material. This material has all the benefits and qualities of cast iron but is without its inherent drawbacks, such as extreme weight and heat loss. If, however, you have your heart set on a heavier cast model, you will need to find out the joist positions and where would be best to put the bath (you need to consider the bath weight when full of water).

Colour is another area to consider, with more and more people moving away from the idea of a plain white bathroom. Incorporating a freestanding bath in a bold shade really does change the feel of the whole scheme. Albion have recently seen customers combine a brightly coloured bath to a feature wall for a strong look, while others make a statement by making a metallic bath the star of the show.

Last but certainly not least, don’t forget about taps. There a huge selection out there to choose from, including wall-mounted, rim mounted on the bath or mounted on stand pipes. The option you choose is governed by the location of the bath and the style you are trying to achieve. Choose taps that are durable and will work with any domestic water system. In the case of tap quality, you get what you pay for - so buy the best that you can.

Whatever bathroom scheme you have in mind, The Albion Bath Company is sure to have the perfect bath for you. From traditional to contemporary designs, their expert team are always on hand to advise and help you select the best option for you.
