Archant

BeoSound Shape is a wall-mounted wireless speaker system for design conscious music lovers – delivering immersive sound staging, a customizable design and integrated noise dampers for improved room acoustics.

BeoSound Shape is more than just a speaker. It is a complete wireless speaker system that can boast as many as 44 individual speakers, and play digital music in rich and detailed high-res audio quality.

The Shape of things to come

The BeoSound Shape will be arriving in Bang & Olufsen stores in Colchester in late August.

Recently launched at the Salone Del Mobile in Milan (the international reference point for the furnishing and design sector), BeoSound Shape is a revolutionary new wall-mounted wireless speaker system for design conscious music lovers. Every BeoSound Shape will be a personalised piece of interior design, delivering immersive sound staging from an evolvable format.

Being a uniquely flexible speaker system that can grow and adapt to the changes in the way you live, the tiles of BeoSound Shape can be rearranged to form a new pattern. Unlike any other speaker system, you define the size, shape, colour – even the sound performance according to your preferences. The modular tile concept behind BeoSound Shape is based on a single geometric shape, the hexagon.

“The hexagon is one of nature’s favoured forms, seen in anything from snowflakes to honeycombs and makes perfect sense in repetitive and expanding structures. Every outcome is unique and there is a sense of natural beauty in these infinite variations.”

Øivind Alexander Slaatto, Designer

Forget about reclusive ‘sweet spot’ listening. BeoSound Shape provides an immersive and social sound experience for all. Rather than optimising sound for a single fixed position Bang & Olufsen’s unique algorithm cleverly distributes the signals across the speakers, making the signal appear in the centre from every listening position. The result: your wall becomes a stage as the lead singer materialises in the centre and instruments join in from the sides, seemingly staying in their place even when you move around. BeoSound Shape is a social music experience that brings ‘the band’ right into your room.

“The indoor climate is all-important to our well-being. One aspect is light. Another factor is air quality. But equally important are the acoustics as they impact us on both a physical and psychological level.”

Øivind Alexander Slaatto, Designer

To sum up, BeoSound Shape is perfect in large spaces with plenty of people and lots of activity. The sensation and spatiality of a live band performance are truly canny. BeoSound Shape cleverly utilises a setup with multiple speakers to deliver a concert-like perception of singer and instruments.

This wireless system boasts as many as 44 individual speakers and at its heart is a connectivity hub (new BeoSound Core) that lets you stream music directly from your phone or tablet via Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay and Bluetooth.

Being part of our Multiroom Collection – a product range that lets you connect multiple wireless speakers throughout your home – BeoSound Shape is also capable of seamlessly uniting with a wide range of other music systems, loudspeakers and televisions.
