Your favourite county magazine, Essex Life, has joined forces with Channels Estate near Chelmsford for another Strike it Red event — an Autumn Splendour Supper and Fashion Show on Thursday, September 20

The fashion show will feature a catwalk show of both male and female models showcasing some of the very best local fashions from the Essex high street, including stores at Freeport Braintree and Dress Code Nine in Kelvedon, plus Slater Menswear, which is due to open on Chelmsford High Street in October.

For this spectacular evening, Channels will be opening the doors to its 17th century thatched Essex Barn on the picturesque country estate in Little Waltham while laying on a fabulous supper prepared by the award-winning kitchen team.

Freeport BraintreeFreeport Braintree

Dishes will include many of head chef Dan Pitts’ classic and most popular dishes such as pan-seared supreme of chicken with pomme Anna and a rich red wine pan jus or flash fried seabream, sweet potato parmentier, samphire, lemon and chervil cream.

This will be followed by mouth-watering desserts such as whipped strawberry cheesecake with, white chocolate granola and toast meringue or lemon meringue pie with candied lemon zest, raspberries and lemon drizzle.

SlatersSlaters

And once you’ve enjoyed the very best in local food and drink, the catwalk will open to showcase the hottest autumn/winter collections from some of the top fashion retailers in the area, just in time for the new season.

This is a great chance to dress up for a great night out (with the option of wearing something red), and it’s all in a good cause as the event will raise funds for Essex charity, Kids Inspire.
