Beresfords to host a night of glamour in aid of Essex Air Ambulance

As one of the county’s leading estate agents, Beresfords is aiming to give something back this month by hosting a stunning Gala Dinner to raise money for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, and you have the chance to be there

It will be a special night of ball gowns and black tie suits, as Beresfords, the largest independent estate agency in the county, hosts a Gala Dinner in aid of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

The night of October 21 promises to be an evening of great entertainment and fabulous food, staged in the stunning surroundings of Greenwoods Hotel & Spa in Stock, with Lancaster Bentley and Ferrari acting as headline sponsors for the event.

Nicki Treffers, group marketing manager at Beresfords, comments: ‘We are really excited to be holding this, our inaugural, charity ball. It’s the first of its kind for us and we hope to make it a big success. We are particularly delighted to have the support of the likes of Lancaster as our main sponsor and Essex Life as our exclusive media partner. We wanted to create a sophisticated evening that really had the wow factor and we have managed to achieve this by having these top brands on board.

‘Lancaster will be showcasing a selection of some of the most prestigious cars around in the surroundings of Greenwoods Hotel & Spa, including top of the range Bentleys and Ferraris, so you really can’t get better than that. We are also very fortunate to have so many amazing donations from both local and national businesses to make an exciting list of raffle and auction prizes. The calibre of items that are on offer is really quite sensational and I am sure we will have plenty of hands up in the air bidding for these amazing prizes and raising generous sums of money for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

‘We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support the event has so far received and we have already sold a large number of the tickets on offer to local businesses, whether they be long-standing business contacts or people just keen to support this very worthy cause. I think it always adds to the evening when you can get dressed up and enjoy a great time, but also knowing that it’s in aid of a fantastic cause and will raise vital funds at the end of it all.

‘There will be live music to entertain guests as they arrive, reception drinks and then a magician to add a sense of fun. And that’s not all. Our compère is the TV presenter and director David Whitely, most famous for the award-winning BBC 1 current affairs programme Inside Out, who will be hosting the evening and acting as auctioneer, helping us to secure as much money as we possibly can. That’s before a DJ gives everyone the chance to dance the night away. The night should be a real extravaganza and we simply cannot wait to host and entertain all of our guests.’

The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity providing a free, life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.

Each HEMS team consists of a pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic who can be rushed to the scene of an incident with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care that is normally only found in a hospital emergency department. Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed by air or land to the most appropriate hospital for their needs.

It costs £6.5 million every year to cover all of the charity’s costs and aircraft operations. Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust relies upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives.
