Whether it’s high tea with freshly-baked scones and homemade jam, or a café with an array of freshly ground beans and delicious cakes — judges looked for the go-to spot for a caffeine fix.
The Loft, Tea by the Sea, Tollesbury
Set in the marina of the coastal village of Tollesbury, The Loft offers freshly-ground coffee and a variety of loose leaf teas, all served in beautiful vintage china. You can also enjoy light lunches using locally-sourced products wherever possible and delectable homemade cakes, always including gluten free and vegan options.
The Little Book Café, Halstead
The Little Book Café is situated in a 17th century cottage in the traditional market town of Halstead. We serve freshly prepared, homemade food, including daily specials, in a friendly and charming environment. We also offer used books to browse, borrow or buy.
Meadow Hill Coffee Shop & Deli, Great Dunmow
Meadow Hill is a small, independent coffee shop in Great Dunmow. Having owned the business since May 2017, after six months we took on the name Meadow Hill which comes from the Saxon name ‘Dunemowe’. We strive to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly service and to serve local, tasty, good quality food.
