This month Essex Life and The Smart School of Cookery in Danbury are offering readers the chance to win a cookery day with Hells Kitchen celebrity chef Stein Smart. Nine couples will win this fabulous prize to be taken in Spring 2009.
The day will begin at 10am where winners will be welcomed at The Smart School of Cookery by Stein Smart and his team. The day will be spent learning how to cook some fabulous dishes under Stein’s guidance in a very hands on experience. Winners will be able to eat all the dishes that are prepared and cooked throughout the day and enjoy a fine selection of wines supplied by Grape Passions of Tiptree, the favoured wine experts of the Smart School of Cookery. Ingredients used throughout the day will be mainly sourced from local suppliers.
This is a guaranteed fun-packed day with Stein imparting tips of the trade learnt throughout his career with Jean-Christophe Novelli and Gary Rhodes. The Smart School ensures that all levels of cooks will enjoy and learn how to replicate Stein’s dishes in their own kitchens.
As a souvenir of the day a goody bag will be provided containing a Smart School apron, suppliers’ details, a CD recipe book of all the dishes cooked on the day and more.
You will also have the opportunity to browse the cook shop and take advantage of a 10% discount on all cookware and Stein’s chilled ready meals. At the end of a fabulous day you will be taken by private transfer to The Essex Golf & Country Club Hotel in Earls Colne for an evening stay with full use of the leisure facilities, including the swimming pool and gymnasium. There is even the chance to arrange a round of golf.*
There is a choice of weekends throughout April and May 2009, subject to availability.

Competition winners must choose one of the available dates that will be offered in April and May 2009. Special dietary requirements will be catered for upon 21 days notice.
The offer includes a one-night stay at The Essex Golf & Country Club in Earls Colne on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis only. Drinks and additional items are not included.
The package is prepaid by The Smart School of Cookery and any extras will be charged to the competition winners directly by The Essex Golf & Country Club.
The evening stay may be taken on the night prior to the cookery class or the night of the cookery class only. Private transfer will be only from The Smart School of Cookery and The Essex Golf & Country Club. You will be required to return a standard Smart School of Cookery health requirements form.
*A round of golf can be pre-booked with The Essex Golf & Country Club at an additional cost payable direct to the hotel
